Chiltern Global provides manufacturing solutions for bespoke products within the defence industry. Combining years of field and manufacturing experience, Chiltern Global delivers practical, cutting-edge solutions that meet the strict requirements of the armed forces.
Following 30 years in the Metropolitan Police Service, Matthew Butterworth launched Chiltern Global in 2005. This background in enforcement paved the way for Chiltern Global’s course into the defence industry. We work directly with a number of manufacturing partners, in addition to collaborating with leading businesses and prime contractors to military forces across the world.
Located on the outskirts of London, we are uniquely positioned to offer British quality standards at an affordable price, ensuring that our partners can remain competitive when bidding on tenders.

Quality is everything to us. Our quality control procedures are unashamedly rigorous; our comprehensive quality management system is accredited to ISO 9001: 2015 international standards. Using a sophisticated, tailor-made project management system, we micromanage the production process from design conception to deployment in the field.

We welcome bespoke commissions for both government and private tenders. Our team consists of former military and police personnel, allowing us to reliably vet each of our global manufacturing partners. We manage each step of the production process, ensuring that we provide every assistance and guidance required to meet exact product specifications and standards for the end user.

With a highly experienced research and development team using innovative technologies Chiltern Global designs, develops and manufactures a comprehensive range of specialist textile products. This includes clothing, footwear, bags, backpacks, outdoor sleeping systems, load carriage, ballistic, riot, CBRN and other specialist protective equipment.
