Description

Piranha compact tyre deflation device

The Piranha is a compact, easy-to-deploy tyre deflation device from Stop Stick, supplied in the UK by Chiltern Global. Small enough to fit in a glovebox or pocket, it gives police, tactical and security teams a discreet way to stop a vehicle safely when a subject may attempt to flee.

Placed under a target tyre, the Piranha deflates the tyre in five seconds or less, bringing the vehicle to a slow, controlled stop rather than a sudden blowout. It is built for covert use where a full spike strip or larger deflation system would be impractical.

How the Piranha works

Each Piranha holds a single replaceable cartridge fitted with two coated quills. When a vehicle drives over the device, the quills penetrate the tyre and stay embedded, releasing air in a slow and predictable way instead of an instant blowout. After deployment, the end caps are removed, a fresh cartridge is fitted, and the base is ready for reuse.

Reloading and Hit Kits

The Piranha is designed to be reloaded rather than replaced. Hit Kits containing replacement cartridges and end caps allow teams to reset the device quickly in the field, keeping units ready for the next deployment and reducing whole-life cost.

Training

Training options are available to support safe, realistic practice without live quills. Training products mirror the size, weight and handling of the operational device, helping teams build familiarity and confidence before live deployment.
